Bio Plas Micro Filtration Media

Bio-Plas Micro is different from other medias as it move within the filter and cause old dead bacteria on the outside of the wheel to be displaced, leaving space for new bacteria to rapidly develop.

Filter maintenance time can be reduced by using Bio-Plas Micro, designed to freely move in a filter, this movement causes the media to self clean as it turns unlike foam and static filter media that require removing and cleaning. This self cleaning process allows the filter to be effective without the disturbance caused by regular cleaning as it avoids the unnecessary loss of vital bacteria.

Bio-Plas Filter Medias are suitable for use in mechanical and biological filtration systems.

All types of Bio-Plas filter media provide large surface areas for good bacteria to colonise and this increases the efficiency of a box, pressure or multi-bay pond filter.

Bio-Plas Medias provide the maximum active surface area for the bacteria to colonise, much more than other types of static media. It is this process which removes harmful ammonia and nitrite from the water.

Within the media is a protected surface which enables colonies of bacteria to naturally follow their lifecycle, of maturing, dying and then fuelling the latter stages of the nitrification cycle.

All Bio-Plas filtration media can be used in either a mechanical or biological Filtration system; Bacteria will colonies while collecting debris and plant material from the pond with no compromise water flow.
